Sundance Rising Viewing Party This Thursday!
Grenada is Rising for Justice! The Grenada National Organisation of Women (GNOW) and Groundation Grenada invite you to a FREE Sundance Rising Viewing Party at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday 23 January 2014. This very special event will be held at the Marryshow House in St. George’s. The viewing party will involve screenings & discussions of a series of short memorable films, which focus on issues related to gender based violence regionally and globally.
The featured film is entitled ‘One Billion Rising for Justice.’ It contains music and dance from 207 countries around the world. Portraying the power, energy and solidarity of people demanding justice for all women and girls to end violence against them. The film shows us a unique event. Never before has there been such a global show of unity, passion and support for women’s daring call to end abuse and violence.
Mental and physical violence towards women knows no boundaries or borders. Statistics show 1 in 3 females, amounting to 1 billion world wide, will experience violence against them, it happens in every corner of our world and in every society, whether rich or poor.

I wish I could be there! It sounds wonderful. Do enjoy, have a powerful discussion afterwards…and greetings from Jamaica!
