Tonight, Speak Up & Out!
In July we published a post calling for your help in finding a space for the Speak Up & Out exhibit organized by Grenadian social activist KizzyAnn Abraham. The exhibit focuses on elevating the voice of people who experience violence through photographs and other medium. We are excited to tell you that Kizzy found a space, right in St. George’s, where she was hoping!
Now we are nearing the last stretch of the annual global movement, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence. As part of this dynamic movement, the Speak Up & Out exhibit is hosting a poetry & prose event this evening! All performances will be focused on gender based violence, women’s liberation, hiv/aids and inspiration. This is also one of the last days to see the exhibit, which closes on Mon. 10th Dec. 2012.
We will be there this evening, will you?
